​The Ethics of Ambiguity, Beauvoir​

In The Ethics of Ambiguity, Beauvoir analyzes different ways that we may relate to ourselves and the world around us (“sub-man”, “adventurer”, “passionate man”, etc.).We are given philosophical arguments for the inadequacy of these positions that, though unfree or immoral from an existentialist perspective, we may still find ourselves holding. How, in practical terms, can a person free themselves from these perspectives? How, for example, can we free ourselves from the “seriousness” that she describes? Also, focus on two specific forms of relation and show how one could rid oneself of these perspectives.
