To craft her study, the author uses sources such as the Letters of Paul, the gospels, the Dead Sea Scrolls, Independent Jewish sources- Josephus’ Histories such as The Jewish War and Jewish Antiquities (Fredriksen, 2000, p. 60), archeological sourcesPharisaic or Essene sources (Fredriksen, 2000, p. 93). In addition to this, the author also used ancient texts such as Natural History by Pliny the elder, contemporary sources, Christian texts such as Ecclesiastical History by Eusebius, and Jewish texts such as Vita Life (Fredriksen, 2000, p. 44).
