Conceptual Frameworks in Program Planning and Evaluation
A conceptual framework illustrates the linked concepts that explain an outcome or phenomenon. Therefore, a conceptual framework represents how existing concepts in a framework or model inform a particular problem. Alemdar & Cappelli (2020) explain that a conceptual framework is essential in program planning and evaluation because it develops a common understanding of the link between program components and expected outcomes. Thus, a conceptual framework analyzes how a program can achieve its desired outcomes through its components.

Narrative
The conceptual framework demonstrates how prevention programs and policies impact teen dating violence (TDV) through four variables: environmental factors, economic factors, parental support, and educator training. These four variables directly impact the risk of teenagers experiencing TDV (Tharp, Burton, Freire, Hall, Harrier, Latzman, Luo, and Niolon, Ramirez, & Vagi, 2011). Implementing prevention programs and policies can address these factors to control TDV (Tharp et al., 2011). Thus, this conceptual framework shows the link between the program components (prevention programs and policies) and its intended outcome (controlling TDV).
