An analysis of graduate papers on the effects of social media and mental health

The two articles I have chosen to analyze are “The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health” by J.M. Smucker and “The Impact of Social Media on Mental Health” by E.M. Cohen. These articles discuss the impact of social media on mental and physical health, as well as how they can be used to improve mental health. Smucker’s article focuses on how social media can be used to increase mental health awareness, build peer networks, and provide resources for mental health support. Cohen’s article looks at how social media can be used to reduce stigma and increase access to mental health services. Both the articles demonstrate that social media can be used for mental health improvement and support of those who are suffering from mental illness (Cohen 2017). In Smucker’s article, the author examines the potential benefits of social media for mental health.
