Part 1
Equiano was taken and sold by his second master. Equiano and his sister had been on the hunt for abductors that roamed rural villages seeking unattended kids. Equiano was kidnapped by the master who was chieftain. He had two children and wives. Equiano was comforted by his extended family after his terrible loss and the separation from his siblings and family (Lovejoy 2006). Equiano said that his first wife treated him with extraordinary kindness. Equiano was employed at the bellows while Equiano worked as a smith. Equiano allowed to walk some distance from his house so that the maidens could fetch water. He started to ask questions on his way to the house to escape.

When he killed an old slave woman’s chicken, his plans to escape were foiled. Equiano fled and hide in thickets after the angry older woman complained to him. Although the master tried to find Equiano, he was unable to locate him. Equiano considered fleeing to his house, but was afraid of getting lost in the forest. His anguish was exacerbated by the nightfall
