Factors that Influence the Ability of Blood Sugar Levels to Be Maintained by Liver

The essential components of a healthy diet are fatty acids. A lot of research on the role of these fatty acids in our bodies’ metabolism has gone into detail. New research suggests that liver function may be affected by the presence of fatty acids. Fatty acids are not directly converted to glucose. However, the liver metabolizes them into ketone bodies which can then be used as an energy alternative. The liver is able to control blood sugar levels by regulating ketogenesis. According to a 2018 study, researchers discovered that eating a high-fat diet could increase the level of ketone body in the liver. This in turn would improve the liver’s ability maintain sugar levels. (Chen et. al., 2018,). Another study, published in 2020, found that eating a high-fat diet improved insulin sensitivity.
