International Climate Change Regime: An Infeasible Effort To Combat Climate Change

This international climate regime includes the many agreements, conventions, and initiatives created to combat global climate changes. Since the 1970s, international efforts have been focused on establishing a system of rules and regulations that will reduce climate change’s impact on the environment, human lives, and global temperatures. The international climate regime for climate change has not been able to reduce the impact of climate changes despite the many efforts. Research has shown that the global temperature is still increasing and that climate change is having an increasingly devastating effect on our lives. A report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, (IPCC), shows that the average temperature has risen by 1.1% since preindustrial times. There are projections of further increases (IPCC 2018, 2018). In addition, it is noted that the climate changing has caused sea level rises and altered ecosystems (IPCC 2018).
