3D Chips: Revolutionizing Computer Processing

The most sophisticated versions of integrated circuits are three-dimensional (3D), chips. They have triggered a revolution in computer processing. The 3D chips transistors can be stacked in between 1-3 layers to create a stronger architecture than traditional 2D. A 3D chip is able to absorb more data and process it quicker than 2D chips, as well as having a longer life span (Lundborg 2016). The wide variety of 3D chip applications means that they can be used in many areas, including artificial intelligence, machine learning, autonomous cars, and smart phones. (Al-Halafi 2021).  The 3D chip provides users with greater processing power than traditional computing solutions such as GPUs. 3D chips allow businesses to create more innovative and efficient products, whether they are large corporations or small start-ups (Wang & Yilmaz 2015). 3D chips have been used in all industries: manufacturing, gaming, and medical science.  3D chips will be ubiquitous within computing in the coming years.
