Biomarkers are defined as biological molecules that reflect the presence, progression, and severity of a disease. In recent years, they have been used to diagnose and monitor stroke and its related conditions. Biomarkers are used to provide insight into how a patient is responding to treatment and can be used to improve the accuracy of diagnosis and prognosis.
