You can’t boot a computer without a power-on password 

To prevent unauthorized persons from accessing your data, you can add a power-on passcode to your computer. An unauthorized user could boot the computer without a power-on passcode and gain access to the stored data. The computer might be capable of being booted even if the password is lost or forgotten. This can be done in several ways.   Locate the battery in the motherboard. If the case is opened, it should be clearly visible. You can remove the battery and replace it with another one to reset your computer. Next, access the BIOS menu (usually done by pressing F2 when the system boots). After the BIOS menu has been opened, navigate to Security. Next, select the Password Entry and change it to “Cleared” (or “Disabled”) depending on what machine you are using. The system will then be unlocked and the password removed, which allows the machine to boot normally.
