How to Unlock a Locked File: An Overview  When a file is locked, it may appear as if its content is inaccessible. You can unlock any type of locked file using a variety of methods. A password is the best way to unlock data (Kascak 2021). A recovery tool can be used to scan and fix damaged files (Aydin, et al. 2015). Users can also restore files from backups or get professional help from software engineers and IT professionals.  You can also use recovery software for access to the locked file. The software will identify the permission or encryption issues and restore locked files. The complexity of the lock may determine if the software can restore files (Zook 2020). If all else fails users may be forced to rebuild their files to gain access to the data that is locked within the file.   Although it can sometimes be difficult to gain access to locked files, there is a way.
