I believe that transformational leadership is the most effective educational leadership theory to use in leading the process of developing a strategic plan with school principals. One reason for this is that transformational leadership has been shown to have a positive impact on employee motivation and job satisfaction, which could be beneficial in engaging the principals in the planning process (Bass & Riggio, 2020). Additionally, transformational leaders have been found to foster a sense of trust and collaboration among team members, which could be important in building a cohesive and effective strategic plan (Jones, 2020). To support my choice, I will synthesize the research by noting that several studies have found that transformational leadership is associated with improved organizational outcomes, such as increased student achievement and enhanced school culture (Leithwood et al., 2019).
