The Biases of Housewives

Some women work as wage laborers, while some stay home and help with household chores. In the past women were considered to be unemployed. Their primary job was to live at home and support their families. It is false to say that housewives’ primary task is to have children and remain at home, while receiving support from tax-paying workers. It is especially true in developing countries, where housewives are seen as an economic burden. This prejudice is caused by the inequality problem in society. This prejudice stems from cultural beliefs, values and social upbringings that impact roles. Based on the above prejudice statement, housewives are viewed as objects rather than humans (Sharma & Tarp, 2018). Housewives who remain at home to raise their children should be considered morally worthy and treated as people, not objects. Housewives should be seen from the perspective of classical feminist feminism. It is wrong to perpetuate inequality that stems from the lower social status of housewives.
