Network edges

The network edges of graph structures are essential elements. They can be classified based on the characteristics they have. There are many kinds of network edges. These include directed, undirected, weighted, unweighted, and edges that have attributes.  Directed edges (also known as arcs) have one direction. This means that they only originate from one source and end at the destination. They are used to show relationships between nodes such as buyer-seller or parent-child (Moreno and al., 2017). However, undirected edges (Chang et. al.,2021) are two-way connections without a defined destination or source. This type of edge is often used for friendship.  The weighted edges are useful in representing strong relationships, such as friendship. The edge between an airline and a traveler might be weighted in order to indicate how often the traveler has been with that airline. The unweighted edge, however, has no value and is used for describing similar relationships among nodes. (Chang et. al., 202).  Additionally, edges that have attributes can be more useful than simply weighting them (Moreno and al. 2017, 2017). This is useful when representing multiple relationships, such as transportation systems with cost and speed.  The purpose of the network and data stored will determine the type or edge that is used. There are many types of edges, including those with attributes, that can be used in various types of networks.
