Non-Covalent Nonpolar Interactions play a role in molecular structures

The structural integrity and stability of molecules is maintained by non-covalent, non-polar interactions such as van der Waals forces, hydrogen bonding, dipole-dipole interaction, and van der Waals forces. Non-covalent, non-polar interactions are formed between molecules and can affect the structure and properties. Chou (2016). Hydrogen bonding and van den Waals forces, for instance, enable formation of hydrogen bonds that stabilize the protein structure (Chou). In the case of DNA double-helix formation (Kumar and al.,2021), dipole-dipole interaction helps to direct molecules in a particular direction. In fact, almost every molecule can show the importance of non-covalent and non-polar interactions. Water, ethanol, and even methanol are all examples of van der Waals interactions and hydrogen bonding (Baker, et al. 2019,). On the other side, dipole-dipole interactions are much more common in molecules like ammonia and carbon dioxide (Lam & Wong, 2016,).
