Uniforms in Schools

Uniforms in schools
Here are some of my sources already if you could use these that would be great
Agarwal, D. (2015). Effects of school uniform on students achievement, behaviour, and
attendance in government school of Odisha: A case study of Sundergarh
District (Doctoral dissertation).

Baumann, C., & Krskova, H. (2016). School discipline, school uniforms and academic
performance. International Journal of Educational Management.

Monk, D. (2017). Dressing up for school: beyond rights and welfare.

Jones, A. B., Richardson, M. J., Jensen, B. T., & Whiting, E. F. (2020). Perceptions of School
Uniforms in Relation to Socioeconomic Statuses. RMLE Online, 43(6), 1-13.

You will do preliminary research to form an outline.  Later, you’ll begin researching more in depth and submit two Journal Reviews (something to note here: don’t review an article that isn’t going to support your paper).
You will ultimately use at least 6-8 sources to write your final paper.
Your final paper should be composed in the following manner:
PAGE ONE: Title page.  Your name, the title of your paper, the date, and the class name (Foundations of Education in America/EDUC 110-300).
PAGE TWO: Note that although this paper is to be done in APA format, I do not want an Abstract.  You will begin your paper on page 2 with an intro.  The introduction will begin with your thesis, present a history of your topic and end with a glimpse of what is to come (present a transtion where you prepare the reader for the pros and cons to come, but do so to capture our attention!  Don’t just list them.)  This should take about half of page 2.
PAGE TWO (bottom) to PAGE SIX (top): Present your pros and cons. You need 4 pros (arguments in support of your topic) and 4 cons (arguments against your topic).  No more and No less. Stagger the pros and cons—so that you present a PRO argument and then a CON argument, etc.  Each argument should have its own “mini-thesis” and its own paragraph.  Stay focused on the argument you are presenting.  If you’re explaining that school uniforms increase grades—remain on that point and support it with research.  Don’t stray to the research that says there isn’t enough support to verify this is true.  Save that for later in the paper if you have an argument against the impact of uniforms on academic success in the classroom.  Don’t begin every paragraph with “A con of uniforms is…”  Work on your paper early so you can go back and really work on the language of the paper before submitting it.  Take time to use the Writing Center for assistance.
PAGE SIX (bottom):  This is where you take everything you’ve learned while researching and formulate an opinion on the topic.  Share how you felt before researching about the topic and what you gained from the research.  Share why you hold the opinion you hold about the topic. This is the only place in the entire paper where “I” is allowed.
PAGE SEVEN: APA Reference Page.  Be sure to cite all research inside the paper well and in APA format.  Be sure all research used is referenced in APA.  The biggest mistakes I see here are: Not alphabetizing the references, research from within research not being cited properly so I cannot follow where it came from, and sources used in the paper missing on the reference page or sources on the reference page not used in the paper.  All sources should be both on the Reference Page and cited inside the paper.
