The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) provides a range of resources that can be used to identify and investigate altered genes and proteins. The NCBI’s Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) is a publicly accessible database that contains gene expression data from over one million samples (Langmead et al., 2020).
