Optum Health Care is an American company that offers healthcare and pharmaceutical services. The services provided by the company range from surgical care to urgent ambulatory care. Optum is a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group and is the organization’s most profitable subsidiary. It was formed back in 2011 when UnitedHealth combined its existing pharmacy and delivery care service and put them under one company. Recent reports showed Optum’s third-quarter revenue was $38.9 billion (Business Wire, 1). The revenue grew by 13.9% compared to the previous year.
