The Impact of Physical Changes on Health, Cognitive and Psychosocial Development in Early and Middle Adulthood

The physical changes that occur in early and middle adulthood can have a significant impact on health, cognitive and psychosocial development. During early adulthood, the body experiences changes in metabolism, weight, muscle mass, and bone density that can lead to health complications such as obesity, osteoporosis, and diabetes (Lambert, 2020; Hogan et al., 2017). As people age, they also experience a decrease in physical activity and motor skills, which can lead to a reduced quality of life (Maisano et al., 2018).
