Why encryption in mobile apps is so important

Encryption is an important tool in securing mobile apps’ security, especially in a world with evolving technology. It can help increase trust among users, secure customer data and offer developers an additional layer of security (LinX., 2020; Th%e broadband, 2021). It is therefore essential that every company or organisation understands the value of encryption for mobile application development.  It is important to ensure that users’ sensitive data are protected. The ability to protect sensitive information such as bank account numbers, access codes and health information from third parties is a benefit of encryption. Additionally, encryption prevents unauthorised access to user data, which helps ensure that only authenticated users can access users’ personal information (Lin X., 2020).  Companies that create mobile apps also benefit from encryption. It protects the intellectual property of the developer. It also helps to protect the companies’ confidential information, such as the source code, plans and strategies, and customer data (The Broadband, 2021).  Mobile applications need encryption to provide additional security as well as protect developers’ confidential information. Companies and other organizations can use encryption to protect information that they share and store.
