Security is multilayered and constantly evolving. It should not be seen as something that can only be checked at set times and then moved on. Organizations must be more focused on developing and maintaining processes to assess and track risk every day in order to stay compliant and secure.   Kuketz (2015) states that security should not be considered a one-time measure. Instead, security must be considered as part of an IT Management Process that requires ongoing assessment, evaluation, prompt response, whenever security risk arises. Continuous security is more critical due to the rapid pace at which digital technology evolves. Ranganath (2021) notes that new solutions, systems, and processes are being developed at a rapid rate – placing organizations at risk of new types of threats and attacks. Security must be considered an ongoing, not a single task in order to mitigate these risks.   Organisations should develop processes and systems that integrate both proactive and reactive security measures. To prevent possible risks, organizations should ensure they keep their standards and security processes up-to-date.
