Preference to Serial Flash Memory for Embedded Systems

Because of its low cost and non-volatility, serial flash memory is a preferred choice for embedded systems (Jain & Jain 2015). Additionally, serial flash memory is compatible with many embedded components due to its simplicity (Miousse 2002). Serial flash memory is also more efficient than traditional parallel flash memory. It doesn’t require high-speed clock signals or translating logic, unlike conventional parallel flash memory (Tuan and al., 2016). This allows for higher data transfer speeds, and greater power efficiency. It is especially useful in embedded systems. Serial flash memory also offers significant storage capacities, up to several gigabytes, according to Durairaj and colleagues (2018). You can use it for both data and application code storage.
